Story Times will run Sept. 12 through Oct. 21 at the Seabrook Library. The following sessions are scheduled:
Tuesday, 10:30am. Toddlers: 1-2 year olds.
Wednesday, 3:30pm. 4-6s On Their Own: 4-6 year olds.
Thursday, 11:00am. 2s and 3s With Parents: 2-3 year olds.
Friday, 11:00am. 3s and 4s On Their Own: 3-4 year olds.
Each Story Time is different:
The Toddlers group will have mostly songs and fingerplays or rhymes, with a very simple book, maybe two. Then the little ones will play while the grown-ups have coffee and tea and a little time to socialize.
The 2s and 3s With Parents Story Time is slightly more advanced, with some songs and fingerplays, but we’ll also introduce picture books and ask a few simple questions. Instead of play time, this group will make a small craft at the end.
3s and 4s On Their Own will follow the same format, but while they’re in story time, their parents will have a chance to select their own library materials.
The 4-6s On Their Own group will have a couple songs or fingerplays, but most of the time will be spent reading and talking about the stories while their parents have a chance to select their own materials. They will also have a craft at the end.
There will be a different theme each week, from apples to Halloween, etc. Our space is limited, so please call to sign up—these limits exist not only because of space but also so that each child will have the best Story Time experience possible. Call 474-2044 or email

We're having our fourth annual "It's the Great Pumpkin Party"! 
Join us to build something really cool! You'll have fifty minutes to build--and plenty of books to get ideas from and plenty of other people to work with! The last ten minutes will be spent explaining just how cool your creation is and getting your picture taken with it. We now have more Legos than we did last time...come check them out!
You don't have to be a kid to enjoy the very entertaining and true story of "Adventures With Grapenut" --A peek into the life of a loon. Journey with Grapenut through all stages of growth: chick to juvenile to adult loon. Children will come away with new insights, respect for and understanding of the day-to-day life of the Common Loon. Marvel at all the fascinating facts and amusing anecdotes about loons. For example: loons have heavy bones that make their water landings more like a controlled belly flop than the graceful landings of ducks! Hint: there may also be another reason! Audiences will be amazed with the many up close and personal loon photos that depict such clear details and provide such keen insight into what makes loons such unique birds! Grapenut will capture children's attention and hearts with his often surprising and startling actions growing up and as he interacts with his adopted human friend. After the show, children will greatly enjoy participating in hands-on loon activities that clearly demonstrate what makes this living dinosaur such a unique and special waterbird.
