Bookmobile Thursday Route (Runs July 9-August 13)

The Bookmobile rolls this week!  Both routes, Tuesday and Thursday, start at 12:00pm--arrival at any point after that will depend on response/demand. Each stop will be as close to the designated intersection as safety allows. Watch for the tan car labeled "BOOKMOBILE". Please have your library card ready to go!

Thursday route:
1) Collins St. Apartment complex just east of Pickens Ave.
2) Corner of Fowler's Court
3) Lower Collins just east of Viola Circle
4) 284/South Main Street
5) South Main/Worthley Rd.
6) South Main/Washington St.
*if necessary, a trip back to the library to restock*
7) Folly Mill Road/Boyd Way
8) Lakeshore Drive/Forest Drive


Note: The goal of the Bookmobile is to reach CHILDREN (I will not have teen or adult books on hand) who cannot otherwise access the library.  If you can make it to the library, please do so--there is so much more available there than the Bookmobile can carry!

Welcome to the summer reading program "Every Hero Has a Story!"  :)  Here's what's going on this coming week:

Monday, 12pm: Sandwiches & Stories (all ages, drop in). Bring your picnic lunch to the library!  While you eat, Paula will read stories.  When you're done, she will have an activity/game or a craft for you to do.

Tuesday,3-5pm: Be a Hero--NHSPCA Crafts.  Stop in to make toys and treats for the animals at the NHSPCA.  This is also your first chance to sign up for the NHSPCA Field Trip (details below).

Wednesday, 6pm: SUPER AMAZING SING-ALONG WITH STEVE BLUNT!! You don't want to miss this oh-so-much-fun musician.  Really you don't.

The library is CLOSED on Friday--go watch fireworks :)

The NHSPCA Field trip: I will be leading a caravan to the Stratham SPCA on Tuesday, July 7.  We'll meet at the library at 3pm and roll out ASAP.  I am not allowed to take anyone in my car--library policy--but I am really hoping that some of you will have an extra seat or two to share.  If you do, please let me know and I will keep a list--I will only give your information to a person who asks for a ride and needs the number of seats you have available.  SIGN-UPS for the field trip will not begin until June 30.

"Every Hero Has a Story!" Summer Reading Program

Greetings!
The summer reading program--Every Hero Has a Story!--is about to begin!

The simplest way to explain everything is to say, "Be here on June 25 at 3:30".  That's the Kickoff Party: There will be cake, at least one animal to pet, a story, and your first chance to sign children up for "Every Hero Has a Story".  However, if you can't make it that day, it's ok--you can sign kids up any time after that.  You don't have to do anything before the party: just show up!  Everyone's invited :)

Program basics: You can come to the library whenever you want.  Children can read whatever they want.  I will provide everything you need in order to participate.

I do still need a couple people to help out with the Kickoff Party: I have  people for refreshments, but I'll need two more--one to hand out sign up slips and pencils, one to give out bags for completed slips.  Easy and painless, I promise :)

Story Time for 2-4s (2-4 year olds):  Wednesdays at 10:30

Songs, stories and fingerplays, then a craft.  Please dress for paint, glue and mess!

Fizz! Boom! Read! Kickoff Party

Let the summer begin! Cake and animals for everyone! Kids (and their adults) are invited to the summer reading program--you'll find out everything you need to know and have a chance to sign up to win prizes and attend cool programs. The NHSPCA will attend with a furry friend (no, I don't know what it is!) and the Food Pantry will send a representative to explain what they do. Laura Litcofsky, of "That's Very Fun" is generously providing our cake :) You don't have to sign up for the party---the party is so that you can sign up for the summer!

April Vacation Week for Kids

 Monday, 3:30pm:  Movie Time!  Big screen, free popcorn.

                                        

 Tuesday, 3:30pm:  National Jelly Bean Day!  We’re going to taste test jelly beans and find the very best ones!

Wednesday, 6pm:  Brownies and Books!  4^th, 5^th and 6^th graders  Delicious brownies, book trailers, and you vote for the best.

Thursday, 10:30-5:30:  Drop In Craft: Recycling.  Lots of recycled things—start creating your most awesome and unique craft!

Saturday, 10-2:  Book Sale!  A wonderful array of books of all kinds for you to buy—support the library!

Games, Puzzles, Art!

Play all afternoon in the Craft Room!  There will be a bunch of games (Battleship, Uno, Go Fish, Connect Four, Pictureka and many more!), some puzzles, and a bunch of craft supplies.  Play, think, create!
